Shell Mendelson, MS, began her career in vocational rehabilitation counseling in 1981, specializing in creating job choices and career transitions for employees injured at work. Eventually, her passion grew in the area of Career Counseling, and in 1991, she trained with Career Master, Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute. In the following years, she worked with individuals and groups utilizing the Bolles Method and in 1998, followed these methods to take the same approach in her own personal career journey.
As an older mom with a love of art and entrepreneurial skills, she saw the need for art education outside the school systems where art programs were either limited or unavailable. The result was the formation of KidzArt (www.kidzart.com), a now international art education franchise with 60 plus franchisees nationally and over 8 internationally. As a franchisor, she learned valuable lessons in creating a profitable business model, franchising and bringing together high caliber professionals to develop the concept. She returns to her career counseling roots with a renewed passion to fulfill a much needed niche providing a personal service to help Older Teens and Young Adults identify their life’s work. Shell also brings a wealth of business resources and education for budding entrepreneurs. It’s never too early to get started in this process.
